The Riverside and Great Northern Railway Experience

Enjoy a peaceful two-mile train trip through the unique rock formations and beautiful woods that line the Wisconsin River. It’s not unusual to see deer, turkeys, foxes, and other animals on a train trip. After the train trip, enjoy a snack or a meal in the picnic pavilion, spend time playing yard games with the kids, or take a tour of the shops. Do it all while watching authentic steam locomotives depart and arrive with trains at Hyde Park Station. *At the end of the train ride the kids get to pick out a pumpkin to take home with them!

Field Trip Details

WHERE: N115 County Road N, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965

WHEN: October 2, 10:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

ARRIVAL: Please arrive by 9:30 a.m. to allow plenty of time to park, use the restroom, check in, and get settled aboard the train. We will want to depart at 10:30 a.m. for the tour.

WHO CAN ATTEND: Each Pella Hill student may attend with up to two adults, and siblings of Pella Hill students are also welcome to join us for FREE.

Additional guests who are not Pella Hill students or their siblings are welcome to attend at the following rates:

Children: $10 each

Adults: $12 each

LUNCH AFTERWARD: Following our train ride, we have access to tour the shops, check out old trains that have been collected over time, play yard games, and then enjoy lunch together. Please plan to bring your own sack picnic lunch. There is a pavilion and a nice grass area the train station where we will eat. A minimum of 40 participants is needed for this trip to take place. Please register as soon as you’re able so we can confirm that we have enough participants and plan accordingly. We hope you can join us!
