Academics

Through evaluation and discussion, your child's teacher will determine the most suitable, interest-driven, effective, high quality curriculum for each academic subject. Pella encourages families to take part in co-ops, experience performances, take part in extra-curricular activities, and participate in music and sports.
Two Tracks to Choose From
Pella's unique Track system allows parents the flexibility to choose a level of school involvement that fits their family and lifestyle. Both Tracks are teacher directed and meet excellent academic standards.

Track 1 Asynchronous
Track 1 provides the greatest flexibility in terms of schedules and pacing. It utilizes a mix of books, online courses, and video lessons, all of which are assigned and overseen by a Pella Hill teacher.
Track 2
Synchronous
The main method of teaching for Track 2 is synchronous online classes in math, English/Language Arts (ELA), History, and Science which are taught by Pella Hill teachers. Students are required to attend classes and will receive grades. Bible is a core course and must be taken asynchronously.
Track 1+
Combination
Track 1+ combines the flexibility of Track 1 with the added support and interaction of live online classes. Students complete most of their coursework asynchronously while also participating in one or two live online classes taught by a Pella Hill teacher.

Because Track 2 students rely on live classes as their primary method of instruction, they receive priority placement. After Track 2 enrollment is finalized, any remaining seats will be offered to Track 1+ students based on class availability.
All Students
Homeroom Students will be grouped by families. Each week, all students will be required to attend a live online "homeroom" session with their assigned teacher. During homeroom, they will say the Pledge of Allegiance, pray, discuss upcoming activities, review schoolwork, and enjoy some fun activities together.
Chapel Students are invited to join Pella Hill's weekly live, online chapel sessions. These brief and engaging presentations offer valuable insights into scripture to enrich students' lives, deepen their faith, and strengthen their spiritual foundation. Chapel attendance is not a requirement and is intended to complement, not replace, regular church attendance.
