Recorder Karate

Join this Beyond the Basics Class where your student will engage in a highly motivating, self-paced music curriculum learning to play the soprano recorder. Advance progressively through more difficult folk songs, earning colored yarn "belts" to tie around their instruments as they master each level.

This class will meet once a week via Zoom on Tuesdays from 2:00–2:30 p.m. The class will run for approximately 6–8 weeks.

Your student will be added to this class in their SPARK account, where it will appear on their schedule along with the Zoom link for each class meeting. This class is only open to Pella Hill Virtual Academy students.

Please note that the class dates listed above will not automatically populate on your personal calendar. Be sure to add these dates to your calendar so you don’t miss a class.

Pella Hill is covering the cost of this class. This is not coming out of your students provision. Registration includes a book, recorder, and all achievement belts needed for the class.

Your teacher, Mr. Yentsch, will provide parents with instructions on when and how to award each belt as students complete the corresponding levels.

Students can submit “belt applications” through a video recording or live during class. Weekly online class meetings will include tips and techniques, troubleshooting, group practice, and low-pressure opportunities for students to perform in front of their peers.

Registration closes August 28th at 5:00pm to allow enough time for class materials to be ordered and mailed to students before the class begins.
