Horicon Marsh

Join us for a day of discovery at Horicon Marsh, one of Wisconsin’s most incredible natural treasures! We’ll explore this unique ecosystem by boat, look for birds and other wildlife, discover the different habitats of the marsh, and ALSO enjoy hands-on learning at the Horicon Marsh Museum.

Our group will divide into two groups of up to 32 people and rotate between two experiences:

Boat Tour through Horicon Marsh and Horicon Explorium (Museum)

While one group is on the boat tour, the other will visit the museum and enjoy its hands-on exhibits. Then, the groups will switch so everyone gets to experience both activities.

Field Trip Details

WHERE: Blue Heron Landing, Horicon, Wisconsin

WHEN: September 25, 8:50 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

ARRIVAL: Please arrive by 8:50 a.m. to allow plenty of time to park, use the restroom, check in, and get settled aboard the boat OR travel to the museum depending what group you are in.

The boats will depart promptly at 9:15 a.m., so please plan accordingly.

WHO CAN ATTEND: Each Pella Hill student may attend with up to two adults, and siblings of Pella Hill students are also welcome to join us for FREE.

Additional guests who are not Pella Hill students or their siblings are welcome to attend at the following rates:

Children/Adult: $8 each

Picnic Lunch

After our adventures, we’ll gather together for a picnic sack lunch at Palmatory Street Overlook (1214 North Palmatory Street Horicon) Please bring your own lunch as well as a picnic blanket or folding/camping chair to sit on (there are also picnic tables).

What to Bring:

• Binoculars, if you have them

• Sack lunch

• Water bottle

• Picnic blanket or folding/camping chair

• Warm jacket or layers — it will be late fall!

• Sunglasses and/or hat

• Sunscreen

• Bug spray
