Chess Club

This Beyond the Basics Class is a chess club where students learn or sharpen their chess skills through guided instruction and practice games. Open to all experience levels, from complete beginners to students who already know the basics.

This class will meet once a week in person at Highland Church in Plover, WI on Mondays from 3:00–4:00 p.m. The class will run for approximately 4 weeks. See dates below:

Your student will be added to this class in their SPARK account, where it will appear on their schedule along with the Zoom link for each class meeting. This class is only open to Pella Hill Virtual Academy students.

Please note that the class dates listed above will not automatically populate on your personal calendar. Be sure to add these dates to your calendar so you don’t miss a class.

Pella Hill is covering the cost of this class. This is not coming out of your students provision. Registration includes one chess board needed for the class.

Your teacher, Mr. Valenzuela, will provide any additional instructions for the class. *Parent Note: Parents are encouraged to drop students off for this class and enjoy the time to grab a coffee, run an errand, or simply take a little break. Our Pella Hill staff will be on-site and supervising students throughout the class, so there is no need for parents to remain. If you would prefer to stay, you are certainly welcome to do so, but all adults remaining on-site during student activities must have a completed background check on file with Pella Hill.

Registration closes August 28th at 5:00pm to allow enough time for class materials to be ordered and mailed to students before the class begins.
